From Shore to San Diego

Eastern Shore Rugby Club is pleased to announce that club member Brandon Power will be travelling to San Diego with Rugby Canada’s U-18 National Squad this coming December!

This is an exciting opportunity for Brandon to showcase his talent at an international level while representing his country, province and the beautiful community of the Eastern Shore.

On behalf of Brandon, the Eastern Shore Rugby Club is seeking financial support from our community to help with the costs of his travelling since Rugby in Canada is a pay-to-play sport.

If you are able to help out by any means, we are accepting e-transfers sent to:, or if you prefer cheque or cash, any of our club board members will be happy to make arrangements to pick up and accept those donations.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and best of luck Brandon!

Eastern Shore Wins Division 3 Title

This past Saturday saw HRFC play host to Eastern Shore RFC in the Men's Division 3 final.

Eastern Shore came out in full force off the opening whistle, scoring two quick converted tries in the early minutes. Halifax regrouped and answered with a try of their own and it was game on!

Half time score 26- 22 Eastern Shore.

Second half saw both teams come back fired up.Halifax opened the second half scoring with a strong individual effort from inside centre Mitch Tenech.
Eastern Shore quickly fired back with a converted try from scrum half Aaron Grahm and a penalty, making the score

A serious injury to Eastern Shore second row Chad Murray seemed to give ESRFC the motivation they needed to see the game through to the win.

Each team would score another converted try in the second half, but Halifax just couldn't pull ahead.

Final score- ESRFC 44 HRFC 36

Congratulations to Eastern Shore, RNS Division 3 Men's champions!

Eastern heads to Pictou for 2cd Match of the Season

The Eastern Shore Men's Rugby side is heading up to Pictou to play the second game of the season.  Eastern Shore played their inaugural game against Pictou in Pictou county three years ago.  It was a hard fought match, unfortunately Eastern Shore was bested by a strong Pictou side.  When Pictou and Eastern Shore took to the pitch last year, it was a much tighter game but again Pictou managed to clinch the victory over the Shoremen.  This year is their first meet up in the newly formed third division and Eastern Shore is coming off a strong 42-22 win over the Halifax Wanders -  could the third time be a charm?  Stay tuned for the results of this important match-up!

Eastern Shore Rugby Opener: Update!!

Unfortunately, due mainly to weather forecast for Saturday, the Season Opener exhibition match against Windsor Machine Rugby has been postponed.  Stay tuned for details.

2013 Riverlake 10's Tournament

Thanks to all the club members and supporters that made the trek to Truro on Saturday to participate in this year's Riverlake 10's tournament.  The Men's side had some numbers issues early on but by the early afternoon were going strong and the Ladies had numbers to spare with many high school rugby players coming out to give the club game a try.  Much rugby was played, roasted pigs were eaten, and fun has had by all!  One of our women's side rookies, Melissa's kit gives you a good indication of the field conditions on game day - extra muddy!
